Anthony Tata is a retired Army general.
President Trump is naming retired Army brigadier general Anthony Tata to be Undersecretary of Defense for Policy. He will replace John Rood, who left that post in February.
Tata is a West Point graduate who served 28 years in the military before his retirement. He was the deputy commanding general of the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan, among other commands. He is a graduate of the Army’s Ranger School and has been awarded a Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge.
He is a novelist whose works have been compared to those of Tom Clancy.
